In some very unexpected yet awesome news, EA has announced that Criterion Games’ smash hit, Burnout Paradise will be hitting the Playstation Network this fall. The PSN release will come complete with the upcoming Trophy support and the new ‘Bikes Pack‘ that will be hitting both the Playstation Network and Xbox Live shortly.

This is a very smart move by EA.  Sony is already doing this with titles like Warhawk and Siren: Blood Curse, which has been profitable for them. Hopefully this is profitable for EA as well, so other publishers may strongly consider it.

Personally, I’d love to see a game like Guitar Hero to be released on the PSN. It would be very convenient for those that already have the instruments and just plan on buying the game.

Thanks: Criterion Games!

The convenience of downloading games directly to your HD is becoming all the more popular. Possibly sparked by such Direct Download platform like Steam, and Direct2Drive. I’ve purchased a few classic Xbox games from the Xbox Classics section on XBL that would otherwise be a pain to find in stores. While currently this is supporting the newer games coming out, it’ll be much easier then driving down to the store and risk the store being out of stock.

The only thing that bothers me is the size of some of these games and the currently small HD space on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. I suppose it’s a smart investment to purchase a larger HD anyway.
