Next Monday, January 19th, you will be able to download Blowout on the Xbox 360 for $15 (1200 Microsoft Points).  Really though, who is going to want it?  When Microsoft announced the idea of Xbox Originals I thought it would be a great way to play some of the cool Xbox games that I never got around to.  However, the releases on Xbox Originals are few and far between, and when they do put something new out it is junky stuff that no one has ever heard of.  I’ve been an avid gamer for years and I don’t think I’ve had even heard of BlowOut before they made the announcement it was coming to Xbox Originals.  With a MetaCritic.com score of 55 I’m not sure who is going to want to download BlowOut.

For those of you like me who have not heard of BlowOut here is a brief overview of the game:

As TransFed Marshall John “Dutch” Cane, you’ve been assigned to suppress a routine clone uprising on the massive battle platform, Honour Guard. Little do you know, the clones have been exposed to a Xeno genome virus, which has mutated them into aggressive, grotesque aliens. Their plan is to control the platform so they can spread the deadly virus to the TransFed colonies and the rest of the universe. Your orders are to take down the uprising at all costs, even if it means destroying the Honour Guard. Features ten levels of intense side scrolling action. Blast through walls, ceilings and floors to discover secrets and power-ups. From Mutated beasts to alien insects, evade 14 different types of enemies. Collect “Modifiers” to power-up your weapons. Increase the level of efficiency, diversity, and damage or enhance your physical attributes: Health, Speeed, Bounce Shields, etc.
