Blockbuster to Only Rent Blu-ray Disks

Stephen Jacques kicked this news across the desk this morning… looks like Blockbuster will only be offering Blu-ray disks as their HD-disk rentals in-store. From their online store they will still rent HD-DVDs, but in-store HD rentals they were seeing a 70% majority renting Blu-ray based disks.

Even with $200 HD-DVD players sitting at home, Blu-ray is still the majority renter at Blockbuster? That’s surprising to me…

Update #2: Gizmodo reports that Blockbuster’s announcement is having a bigger effect on killing the HD-DVD market than previously thought… I wonder what would happen if Netflix threw it’s hat in too?
