BioShock Drama Continues

Given all the stories that have already been written about BioShock, it seems the drama continues. The two issues are:

  • Current DRM restricts 2 simultaneous installations. Unfortunately, only running the uninstaller to completion will update the 2K servers to let them know you freed up 1 install. So if you reformat, loose a HD, or something else like that happens you just “ate” up your install token and lost it. Solution was to keep the bullshit DRM and up the install tokens to 5. (NOTE: I was unable to even play the fucking demo because of the Securom DRM. How adorable is that?)
  • The Widescreen-is-a-lie problem for PC and 360 players. 2K released an announcement that it wasn’t being cropped, but now they are working on a patch to “fix” it… so it seems it was being cropped. The patch will be for PC first, and they are investigating a fix for the 360. Hopefully PS3 gets the fix integrated out of the box.
