Life & World

The “Action Habit” or the habit of putting your thoughts or plans into action. One of the hardest habits to develop and one of the biggest properties lacking from people today. Most of us avoid action out of fear.

Here are 7 ways to grow the habit and help it to grow (Hit the link for more detail):

  1. Don’t wait until conditions are perfect
  2. Be a doer
  3. Remember that ideas alone don’t bring success
  4. Use action to cure fear
  5. Start your creative engine mechanically
  6. Think in terms of now
  7. Get down to business immediately

I’ve bolded the points I think are the most important. As someone who has been working on this personally for the last year, these are the keystones in my humble opinion. First and foremost #4 then #1. Fear stopped me from doing so many things that I made a New Year resolution that I remind myself of everytime I halt:

Try and Fail

This motto, for ‘07, has helped me improve my life more than I ever thought. Every time I balk at something “I can’t do that” or “I don’t want to do that” I remind myself that I am actually trying to fail… and that seems to make it 10x easier.

Give it a try…
