A little late, we know, but still valuable for anyone that didn’t quite get every game they wanted for Christmas and want to know what to go pickup used (or new).

#1 – GoTY – Gears of War 2

What do we really say about this title that we haven’t already said in the review? We are aware of how cliched it looked giving this such high scores given that everyone else did to, but damn… it’s just an awesome game. In one of the rarest-seen, but truest-to-form moves we’ve seen for a sequel, Gears of War 2 literally was everything that was awesome about Gears 1… made bigger and better.

The only thing that would have made this game perfect is if they had snuck 4-player co-op  into the title as was rumored months before it came out — the scenes in the game seem to support it just fine as you are with 2 other NPCs most of the game, but there are a few parts where we understand 4-players may have been a bit too much or seemed like a forced effort.

We don’t care though, we loved this title.
