In light of my most recent post about the Palm TX and Gmail someone asked about synchronizing the Palm TX with Google Calendar. Unfortunately after some digging I found a bunch of *very specific* connectors for phones, iPods, mobile phones, etc. and then consistently found the CompanionLink product mentioned over and over again as the way to synchronize your handheld device with Google Calendar. So I guess that’s it for now.

I can’t believe that this will stay the case for long, at some point Google Calendar will open up the sharing/accessing of the Calendar and I’m sure we’ll see some work from Gnome/KDE work it’s way into the Windows world and eventually get a conduit to handle this. But if you need synchronization right now, CompanionLink seems to be it.

Update #1: Ok so we bought CompanionLink and overall I’d have to say it works fine except it creates duplicates for *everything* in PalmDesktop/Palm TX. I tried resetting and rescyning with no luck. There was plenty of information for the other tools about “duplicates” but nothing about the Google Calendar sync component. So for now we are just tollerating the duplicates. Also you can’t synch any other calendar besides your default one. I can understand why they did that, but important to know if you are a huge multi-calendar person.
