A while ago I blogged about my experience installing Ubuntu and configuring/using it to replace my Windows desktop. Then using that information I put together a guide for new users on what to expect when setting up Ubuntu and how to create the best “first timer” experience I could think of.
I also ran across this article on Mad Penguin talking specifically about autodetecting hardware and hardware issues on Ubuntu which is extremely important for a lot of users. The only hardware I had touched on up until now has been getting my iPod working on Ubuntu so I thought adding this to the library of Linux resources would be handy.
